Finding out when to visit India can be tricky as it is such a vast country. India can be divided into 5 different sections;
North, South, East, West and Central
And it experiences 4 different seasons:
Summer or pre-monsoon (March to May)
Monsoon or rainy season (June to September)
Autumn or post -monsoon (October -November)
Winter (December to February)
December is the time when the contrast between North and South is experienced the most, with temperatures below zero in Delhi and 30 degrees in the Goa & Kerala. Temperatures get to a peak just before the monsoon starts again around May.
Generally the best time to visit India is between October to March, the heat kicks in after April and Mother Nature starts preparing for the magnificent monsoon that will bless the land with water, loads of it! From around mid June the clouds travel Northwest from Kerala and by the end of September most of the rains have disappeared. It will still take up to December for the blue skies to return. Monsoon is not the best time to visit India, but it is an experience totally different to any other. Heavy rainfall, sometimes for days continues, changes the dusty land to lush green fields, it refills the wells and brings joy to humans and animals.
